Tentative Schedule:*

8:00am - Registration and Check-in Opens
9:00am - Tournament Welcome, Go Over Rules
9:30am - Round Robin Pool Play Begins
12:00pm - Half-Time Show, Contests
12:45pm - Tournament Round Begins - winners from each pool compete for the championship
2:15 - Recognitions, Honorees
2:30pm - Championship Game
3pm - Awards Recognition

*Duration of the tournament may change based on number of teams participating, but all play will finish by 6pm.

Registration: 

Register your team of 4 (including 1 substitute) online here, or register as an individual here. Anyone ages 14 and older can play. There will be one tournament for all genders. Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 25th, 2024. Teams that register by April 3rd are guaranteed a t-shirt. Team registration is $120 and individual registration is $40; registration is incomplete until payment is made. Scholarships can be requested on the registration page. If you would like to make an additional donation to go toward scholarships, you can do so when you make payment. Every team is guaranteed three games.

Prizes:

The winning team wins a cash prize of $400 and $600 to a nonprofit of their choice. There will also be many raffle prizes - raffle drawing will be at half-time. 

Sponsorship: We are accepting sponsorships at every level. It's a great way to support the community and also share your organization with a large audience. To be a sponsor fill out the sponsorship form

Bull City Madness benefits the community by:

  • Building Community - People from many backgrounds come together for a day of fun, socializing, and friendly competition.

  • Encouraging Physical Activity - Exercise through sport promotes healthy habits and lifestyle.

  • Raising Awareness - Organizations and nonprofits who are caring for our city are highlighted through tabling, forming teams, and shout-outs.

  • Fostering Collaboration - Many civic leaders, organizations, businesses, religious communities, and other groups come together to learn from each other and spark collaborative conversations.

  • Raising Support - The winning team receives $600 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice. All other proceeds support DurhamCares, the tournament organizer. Collaboration across sectors creates funding opportunities for the organizations involved.

  • Remembering Well - Durham has a rich sports history, and Bull City Madness will highlight key aspects of our city’s heritage.
